Senior Breana Reyna signed a letter of intent to play softball at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas on Nov. 13. Reyes said she “feels great” after the signing.

How do you feel knowing you are committed to Lamar?

“Well now that I am signed to Lamar, I feel great. I feel like my dream came true of getting the opportunity to play college ball at the Division 1 level.”

Did you get a scholarship?

“Yes, I received a scholarship to Lamar.”

What do you plan on majoring in college?

“In college, I plan on majoring in sports med, or kinesiology.”

What are you most excited for?

“I am most excited to get to live in a new place a little way from home and have a good time playing the game I love while making my family proud.”

Do you think you are prepared to move away?

“Yes, I do think I am prepared to move away. I feel like my parents mentally and physically prepared me enough to make it out there on my own because they are such great role models and parents to my sisters and I.”

What will you miss the most?

“I will definitely miss my family the most.” 

Was Lamar your first choice?

“Lamar was actually my second choice, my first choice as a child was University of Texas, but then I grew up and fell in love with Lamar.”

Did you expect to receive a scholarship?

“Yes, I kind of expected to receive a scholarship because I knew the coaches liked me. I just never knew when they were going to end up making it official and offering me.”
